This house is one of the house built in extreme area, situated in desert part of a winter island Southhern Idaho. There are days through the winter when long driveway is impenetrable although the home is arranged for that. It has not only traditional elements for winter house living such as fireplace and the great view of snowed landscape but also elements of customary living house like cabinet, home library and a lot of space. This house built around a single large room that combines kitchen, living and dining areas. It even has a garden of roses, grapevines and fruit trees which are framed by 11-foot-tall concrete walls. This house designed by Tom Kundig for Jan McFarland Cox. – via
