This four storey modern house situated in a quiet residential lane in Toronto, designed by and for its owner, Elaine Cecconi, a partner in the Canadian design firm Cecconi Simone. The unique structure detailed with the finest attention to materials. The house was designed to mimic an industrial warehouse or factory, echoed in the stucco’s utilitarian lines and the factory windows on the front façade. Interior designed with stylish, modern and clean with modern minimalist furniture. The extensive use of Corian, honed concrete floors and Brazilian Ipe speak to the durability of the residence, while clever room dividers, abundant storage and the oversized kitchen respond to the needs of everyday living. The flexible floor plan provides up to 4 bedrooms, and can easily be adapted for creative or professional use. – Cecconi Simone
