Modern Munro House in Brisbane by Base Architecture

The Munro House located in St. Lucia – Brisbane QLD Australia, designed by Brisbane based architecture firm Base Architecture. The proportions of this house have been dictated by the restraints of the site. The Casa Son Vida is a ultra luxurious villa in exclusive community in Palma de Mallorca, designed by Tec Architecture and Holland interior designer Marcel Wanders Studio for Cosmopolitan Estates, Ltd. The 8,500 square foot luxury residence transgresses the constraints of site and context, redefining luxury architecture as it is typified by the traditional and prolific Mediterranean and Tuscan styles otherwise found on the island. This act of defiance is accomplished by creating an entirely new structure that erupts unexpectedly from the walls of the existing Mediterranean home.

Designed by Seattle based architects Peter Cohan, this contemporary house responds directly to the predicament posed by the site that its most desirable location, at the edge of the bluff, is also its most fragile. Sustainable Elm and Willow House Restoration in Melbourne by Architects EAT

The main project restoration of Elm and Willow House involves an existing “Edwardian house“, whilst the rear of the property underwent a level of demolition and construction for a new addition. The two mature Elm and Willow trees became the constraints of the project. They affected the arrangement of the new addition, and together with passive solar orientation, the result is a U-shaped plan enclosing a north-facing courtyard.
