Designed by AR Design Studio, the Boathouse built to serve as a tranquil retreat float out over the lake in Winchester, UK. This private housing building consists of a 4-legged steel frame structure sitting on concrete piles sunk into the lake. The construction and appearance is high contemporary, but the use of traditional materials such as natural oak and slate acknowledges its rural setting. The Gwathemy Residence and Studio situated on eastern Long Island New York, designed by Charles Gwathmey in 1965.
