Modular Right Track House by Peter Cohen

Situated in n the coastal forests just outside Ellswort – Maine, Peter Cohen designed this ingenious spine-and-module home for him and his wife Sally, in a good distance down the slope running to the Union River, the Maison Amtrak is clearly oriented toward the river. The deck is sheltered from the neighbors’ view by Cohen’s bedroom to the right and the living room at left.

Bicycle Rack-Prefabrication Modular House Design by Palo Alto architect

This is prefab modular home by Palo Alto architect, Joseph Bellomo, is joining the ranks of affordable, modular housing. Dubbed the House Arc, Bellomo was inspired to create the home after the success of his modular bicycle rack design, the Bike Arc — designed to provide efficient storage space for bicycles. The modular component arcs are designed to be lightweight making transport easier and cheaper. Bellomo estimates that it could cost $100,000 for an 800 square foot prefab home.
